Russian or, as we used to say, Soviet hockey school gave us not only world-famous players from the generation of Vsevolod Bobrov, Nikolay Puchkov, Alexey Guryshev and Nikolay Sologubov, who were on the national team that won the first golden Olympic medals for our country in 1956, to our present-day Russian stars of the world hockey: Sergey Fyodorov, Pavel Datsuk, Alesander Ovechkin and Yevgeny Malkin. The unique Russian school of hockey first of all is the result of coaches’ work, enormous in intensity and dedication. All famous players can still remember their first coaches with warm feelings, for these people taught them the basics of hockey and cultivated the love for this game. We proudly remember names of great coaches like Arkady Chernyshev, Anatoly Tarasov, Boris Kulagin, Igor Dmitriyev and Viktor Tikhonov! These are only few of the bright personalities and top-notch experts truly devoted to their job; no doubts, they contributed a lot to the history of Russian hockey.
Coaches of the Russian Hockey School are among the best experts in children and youth hockey in Russia, they maintain the legendary traditions of the Soviet hockey school, supported by their rich professional experience and knowledge. All of our coaches use the “explain, show, control” principle. This approach to teaching on and off the ice ensures the training task is clear to the player and thus is performed correctly. We select our coaches thoroughly, and this is why we do not have too many coaches in our school. Quality of the training process is of prime importance, we ensure it is constantly controlled. Key coaches of the Russian Hockey School are coaches of the youth team and Tver Olympic Reserve Sports School for Children. We have visiting coaches from other regions of Russia as well as famous experts from Canada and the US involved in our regular school activities and special training camps The list of our coaches is not fixed; we are open to cooperating with coaches who share our views and values.
